Elizabeth Czekner
Lead Instructor, North Lawndale College Prep

Elizabeth Czekner is an interdisciplinary artist and educator. She holds a B.A. in art education and a teaching certificate from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Fine Arts from Columbia College Chicago where she focused her graduate studies in video, new media theory and practice. With a diverse academic background in drawing, sculpture, video and media design, she has 10 years of teaching experience. She has worked in Columbia College’s Television and Interactive Arts & Media departments and has engaged in several independent and collaborative exhibitions nationally.

Elizabeth joined the Free Spirit Media team as lead instructor at North Lawndale College Prep High School in June of 2007. Working collaboratively with the FSM team, Elizabeth aspires to teaching youth the technical aspects of video production while cultivating creativity, collaborative learning, and critical thinking to utilize technology as a tool for transformation. She currently teaches video production courses and electives for freshmen, sophomore and senior students at NLCP.
