The Gary Comer Youth Center:

FSM's after-school program at the Gary Comer Youth Center gives high school students the opportunity to create and produce their own talk show/news magazine called Perspectives of Teens in Chicago.

Through brainstorming sessions and surveys of other teens, students identify issues that they address during their show. The show is made up of panel and audience discussions as well as short, documentary-style film packages.

Students develop a variety of skills, including producing, directing, on-camera talent, control room and camera operations, and editing. During each ten-week session, participants rotate through intensive two-week units that culminate with the shooting of a new live show.

PTC Shows are aired on CAN TV Channel 19 in Chicago.
