Jason Roman

Jason believes that creative art revolves around the human experience. As an artist, he creates illustrative and video media that showcases communities of people of all backgrounds and stories and highlights certain experiences from the people around Chicago. As an Emerging Teaching Artist, he is responsible for assisting Teaching Artists and Managers in programs and developing his skills and experience towards becoming a professional teaching artist himself.

Previously, Jason served as multimedia artist, special projects editor, and teaching assistant at Street Level Youth Media, where he focused on highlighting various events and community organizations across the city of Chicago, introducing fundamental media skills to students investigating topics and issues within their communities.

Jason envisions a world where sharing thoughts and experiences through art connects communities through shared interests and values.
