Rafaella Villamar

Rafaella is a multidisciplinary artist and 2D animator with expertise in multimedia storytelling, documentary-style and experimental animation as well as fine art. Her background in fine art sparked her interest in filmmaking and can be appreciated in the collaborative projects she has worked at as well as her own short films. She recently obtained a BFA in Animation and a minor in Illustration at DePaul University in Chicago.

With a strong emphasis in community, social justice, culture and identity, she strives to create meaningful impact through her work and support the creative development and leadership of others in their journeys. If she’s not working, she can be found thrifting at small festivals, adding to her vinyl record collection or at art galleries.
