Our visitors came to us from eleven different African countries: Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Zimbabwe, Niger, Nigeria and Uganda. With the guidance of In-School & Curriculum Manager, Keta Glenn, World Chicago visitors’ first stop was FSM News West. There, they heard from FSM News West Program Coordinator, Frankiem Mitchell, and FSM News West Production Coordinator, Hayward Suggs, about the exciting energy and work of participants. After watching “Graffiti: An Overlooked Art Style”, World Chicago visitors engaged with the topic of beautification, the history of graffiti and the process of choosing documentary topics.

Next, World Chicago visitors took a trip down to The Real Chi, enjoying a viewing of “Chinatown: Ready for the 2019 Election” by Jenny Shi. The Real Chi Program Coordinator, Lee Edwards, along with The Real Chi reporters and editors, answered questions on the importance of journalism and how one creates a video.
